It is a tool used by many innovation-driven companies to generate Breakthrough Solutions for Organisational Challenges. Typically, a group of bright individuals from across domains are brought together at a venue. They are divided into teams based on their interests and expertise and are given a specific challenge, for which they, collectively, find an Out-of-the-Box solution. The session is led by an expert facilitator who triggers the right brains of the participants at the right time with relevant exercises, case illustrations etc. enabling the participants to transcend feasibility & operate from the realm of possibilities. Many a hackathon has generated some really breakthrough products and services.
